Pillow block bearing is a type of bearing unit that combines a rolling bearing with a bearing housing. Most pillow block bearings have their outer diameters made into a spherical shape and are installed together with a bearing housing that has a spherical inner hole. They come in various structural forms and have good versatility and interchangeability.

Maintenance and inspection methods:
The maintenance of bearing seats can be carried out by detecting sounds, vibrations and temperature conditions. Abnormal noises indicate internal damage, abnormal amplitude reflects installation or wear issues, and excessively high temperature may be caused by insufficient lubrication or overload.
Installation:
1. Before installing the bearing onto the shaft, first remove the fixing pin of the bearing cover, and smooth and clean the surface of the shaft neck. Apply oil to the shaft neck for rust prevention and lubrication (allowing the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).
2. Apply lubricating oil to the mating surface between the bearing seat and the bearing, insert the bearing into the bearing seat. Then, assemble the assembled bearing and the bearing seat together and place them on the shaft. Push them to the desired position for installation.
3. Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat immediately. Allow the bearing cover to rotate within the bearing seat. Similarly, install the other end bearing and seat on the same shaft, rotate the shaft a few times to allow the bearing to automatically align itself. Then, tighten the bearing seat bolts securely.
4. Install the eccentric sleeve. First, place the eccentric sleeve on the eccentric step of the inner sleeve of the bearing, and tighten it by hand in the direction of the shaft's rotation. Then, insert or press a small iron rod into or against the blind hole on the eccentric sleeve. Use a hammer to strike the small iron rod in the direction of the shaft's rotation. Make the eccentric sleeve firmly installed. Finally, lock the internal hexagonal screw on the eccentric sleeve.
